Sadorus, IL: Wabash Depot and Water Tower

(Satellite, you can still see the foundation north of the tracks and east of Center Street)

Another depot photo that is old enough to have train order signals. Obviously the passenger service was on the right and the express package service was on the left. I'm also noticing that big eaves and brackets are almost as common in depot designs as the bay-window for the agent's desk.

Richard Fiedler: I think the cream over gray with red oxide trim was from 1910 or so. Prior was plain red oxide entirely. Comments?
James Holzmeier: Agree, Richard...based on the postmark dates on the postcards I've seen throughout the years.

Richard Fiedler: Sadorus depot painted in the old tricolor scheme so that dates this photo to pre 1905.

Dennis DeBruler commented on Bill's post
It was north of the tracks and east of Center Street. 1940 aerial

Members of the Wabash group determined that this view was looking West because the depot was on the north side of the track so the code line was on the north side. The depot was east of the Center Street crossing. The building next to the tower was identified as the pump house.

James Holzmeier:
The WStL&P structure book says it's a 20x26 brick pump house at Sadorus. It says the water tank is an "Okaw" (whatever that is) wood tank, 16x20, 1-story.
