Greensburg, IN: Big Four Hub

Greensburg had five "spokes," but by 1928 they were all owned by the Big Four  (Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago & St. Louis) and thus eventually the New York Central. All but the Cincinnati-Greensburg-Shelbyville-Indianapolis branch were abandoned by the NYC. On my 2005 SPV Map, that branch was owned by CIND --- Central Railroad of Indiana, a Rail America subsidiary operated by IORY. It was acquired by Genesee & Wyoming in 2012. There is a Honda plant in Greensburg, so viable rail service is important for the economy of Greensburg.

Rob Parkison posted several pictures of Greensburg, IN with the comment: "Greensburg Indiana Railroad photos."

I repeat photo "9" above because it shows how different copies get scanned differently. And the comments provide some more insight.
Roger Hensley posted
1896-1900 Postcard photo of the Greensburg Indiana Depot about 1900 - Lawrence Baggerly Collection.
Bill Edrington Which direction was the photographer facing here?
Roger Hensley North East. The train to the left is going North.

Rob Parkison also posted three maps with the comment: "These are Maps of Tracks that ran thru Decatur County Greensburg at one time several are no longer in existence... Tho you can still find small traces left scattered thru out the county !"
