1932 Virginia and Jacksonville Quads @ 62,500 |
The purpose of these notes is to make a "home" for this map.
Roger Kujawa posted Rare 1876 Peoria Perkin & Jacksonville Railroad & Connections R x R Map Print seen on eBay. Chip Gay: Old map SF had yet to exist. Roger Kujawa shared Rob Meyer: My dad used to talk about a roundhouse on the north side of Jacksonville, I guess it was this RR. |
Dennis DeBruler commented on Rob's comment The roundhouse was gone by 1941. But the foundation shows that it was just south of Walnut Street extended. There is now an apartment complex built on the former railyard. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.7459837,-90.2194766,844m/data=!3m1!1e3 https://clearinghouse.isgs.illinois.edu/webdocs/ilhap/county/data/morgan/flight6/00se3b142.jpg |
