Kingston, ON: Wolfe Island Ferry Dock

(Satellite)

Wolfe Island is the largest of the Thousand Islands.

Pictured is Wolfe Islander III. It can hold approximately 55 cars and 330 passengers per trip.

This ferry service is significant because it is year round and it is free. A crossing takes about 20 minutes.

The service uses a different route in the winter.

An all electric replacement, Wolfe Islander IV, has been built. Since it is currently (Jun 14, 2022) docked at Picton Terminals with its sister electric ferry, Amherst Islander II, I document their construction and trip to Canada in the Picton Terminals notes.

Its new 2021 - zero emission ferry. Will run between Kingston and Wolfe Island, Ontario. Built in Romania, needed infrastructure built before commissioning her. She should be good to go very soon!

James Mathias posted six photos with the comment: "First shift on the new boat today."
Helen Cooper shared with the comment: "Captain James Mathias first shift on the brand spanking new wolf Islander ferry linking Kingston to Wolf Island!  Thanks for the pics James!"

James Mathias: Janey Anderson that’s showing only one out of 5 rows in one of several battery rooms lol
Janey Anderson: James Mathias She's pretty amazing and she has a super fast charge rate I hear.
