Ontario has ordered the
Amherst Islander II to upgrade its ferry service to Amherst Island. The new ferry is electric, and it has a greater capacity (45 cars and 299 passengers [
kingstonist]).
The
Amherst Islander II will replace the
Frontenac II ferry.
Because Ontario ordered the
Wolfe Islander IV when it ordered the
Amherst Islander III, they both were first delivered to Picton Terminals for crew training. So the construction and delivery of both ferries is documented in the
Picton Terminals notes.
