Conrad Ekstrom posted two photos with the comment: "Neat photos of the Hyannis, Mass engine house complex, TT, Engine house, water tank, and coal trestle. c 1940s or so. Pit remains and the engine house was / is a nightclub. All else is history. H Goodwin Coll."

It looks like one of the excursion trains of the Cape Cod Central Railroad is a caboose train.

This is another topo map that erroneously labels a route with a railroad name that won't yet exist for decades. Unfortunately, these naming errors are not rare.
Even back in 1947, Hyannis was the terminus.

I spent some time looking for a map that shows where the trains run. I could not find one. Then it occurred to me that, since the rides are round trip, you are not supposed to care where it goes, just the duration of the ride. But you do have to know where to get on it. Most of them leave from the Hyannis depot (below). The Polar Express and Canal Excursion Train leave from Buzzards Bay. A few trains leave from West Barnstable, nut I could find where you board that train.
