Rich Gunther: The description of the lights does not mention red lights indicated deenergized catenary. There would have been toggle switches that corresponded with the “plate” number indicating the portion of track de-energized. |

Erich Houchens: Looks much better than it was when I worked there in the early 80's. I see the model board has been restored to it's pre WWII layout. Back then No.1 track ended at Seabrook and picked up again at Bowie. North of Bowie is a siding one the south side that ran to just north of the Patuxent River. Today Bowie Interlocking is controlled by Amtrak's CTEC 1 dispatcher a job I also worked.
Jim Kelling: Tower was moved away from the tracks and restored on a new foundation some years ago.

posted five photos with the comment: "Thursday afternoon I stopped by Bowie Junction. The tower now houses the library of the DC NRHS, and other historical facts noted on the marker. Bowie, MD. Adjacent trackage now under CSX and Amtrak control."

They replaced a N&W caboose with a...
...B&O caboose. Neither is accurate because these are Pennsy tracks.
