Michael Emerson Avitt posted CB&Q depot at Tarkio, Missouri in 2005. Mike Bartels: Gallatin North Missourian of Sept. 7, 2013, said the Tarkio depot was demolished on Aug. 28, 2013. Built in 1915. Line from the main at Corning up to Tarkio abandoned on June 7, 1982. Track north of Tarkio to Westboro, Mo., abandoned around 1975. |

This aerial confirms the topo map is correct, the depot was north of Main St. and between house tracks and the mainline.

This depot was on the CB&Q tendril that went from Villisca, IA, through Clarinda and to Corning, MO. About 17 miles East of here along US-136, Burlington Junction was on another CB&Q tendril.
