An industrial spur used to go into town along Midland Ave.

I found this poultry feed mill while looking for industrial remnants along the industrial spur. Note the hopper car in the left background.
The hopper car is expected, but I wonder what the tank car is used for. Molasses? Note the winch used to pull one car after another over the unloading grate. And I presume the rubber mallet in the foreground is used to bang on the side of the hopper to loosen stubborn grain. Railroads are willing to provide carload service, rather than unit train service, to feed mills in the south because that is the destination of some of the unit trains loaded in the Midwest.
In fact, in a satellite image I spotted at least three tank cars, but only one hopper.
I was looking for feed trucks. I didn't find any, which makes sense because during the day they should be on the road making deliveries. But I did spot more hopper cars.
