Railroad workers pose on and under a Brown-Hoist Machine at the Toledo And Ohio Central Railroad docks around 1900. The facility was located on the East Side of the Maumee River opposite the mouth of Swan Creek.

The East end of the Toledo & Ohio Central R.R. operation on the Maumee River in 1905. There was a freight station and a passenger station that was located here on Main St. just off the Cherry St. bridge which is visible in the photo. This was a very busy area of the city between the commerce and downtown!

Freighter William A Reiss attempting to maneuver straight into the channel and the middle of the Cherry St. bridge opening. The boat was loaded with coal from the T&OC docks (where the Dock's Are today) and needed help from 2 tugs to straighten it's self out.

Thanks for specifying the location. I did not realize that there were bulk dock facilities that far upriver.

1960 photo of what we know as the Docks and International Park looked like 50 years ago.

1960 would be just after the Seaway opened up. The Navy Pier in Chicago also served big ships during this time period.
