The current tower was obviously just a grade crossing tower. I wonder what the original tower controlled.

In addition to preserving their Michigan Central depot and freight house, Ypsilanti parked a caboose in their historic district before they removed the team tracks.

Tim Shanahan posted Nolan Skip Raspbury LaFramboise II: the passenger station is privately owned. As great as the surrounding neighborhood is, there are many unhappy residents and businesses with the status of the depot building. I've heard there's great desire and plans to renovate the depot as an Amtrak stop. How that works through private ownership is the question. |
