Chillicothe Ohio this station was also a dispatcher's office and a train order office.
Jeff Steinbrook: I believe this to be my trademark pic, but this was later shot of this area, prior to this pic the N&W had a double track mainline going through here there was also a crossing gate tower in the center of all this, knew a man who passed several years ago who worked for both RR's in the tower, told me he found a farmer in the Athens area I think who purchased the tower building and turned it into a chicken coop, both railroads at one time shared the station for passenger service and what not. It is a shame it's all gone but what's left of the platform and car shops south of the depot. Picture is right brfore the building of the overpass that later did this area of Chillicothe to become what it is today.

It was less than a mile.

You can still see the foundation of the roundhouse.

Here is a shot of the B&O yards in Chillicothe, Oh prior to the building of the overpass at Main & Sugar streets, facing east. As you can see at one time was a pretty busy terminal, the diamonds are where the N&W crossed, on the Portsmouth to Columbus line, today nothing is left but the concrete platform, some platform lamp posts that was put there when Amtrak came through here, and the old car shops, everything else gone, vandals burnt the depot down several years ago.
