Oswego Canal join Lake Ontario here, it has a salty port.

I presume it is unloading salt. The grain elevator must be a recent addition because I could not find it in a satellite image.

McKeil today at the port with a load of prime aluminum for the local plant. We are the first port on the Great lakes and one that is usually ice free for the entire year so can receive ships up till the seaway closure."
Frank Valls: It appears the IVER BRIGHT is also in port in the west berthing area. Two great photo opportunities today. Great sunlight conditions too. Great news and work having the Port stay open longer !

Screenshot from a comment on Janey's share McKeil has special cranes to handle the aluminum ingots on pallets. I think this video was taken at a different port, but the unloading operation would be the same. |
