| Kathy Jensen Harley posted My father was depot agent in Algonquin, Illinois during the late 40’s and 50’s. This was a Chicago Northwestern freight station at the time. Our family actually lived in the station for many years. Mark Jensen: So you and your family lived in the depot? Was there a living section upstairs? Kathy Jensen Harley: Mark Jensen We lived in what used to be the passenger waiting room. It had a small kitchen off that room and the bathroom was off the office. Our large closet or storage room was in the ticket room off the office. It was a living room by day and we all had hide -a- beds for night time. We moved out as a family in 1956 or 1957. My father remained as depot agent until the mid 60’s (not sure exact date. He transferred to depot agent in Mchenry, which was a passenger station.. I’m not sure the date it was demolished. Tom Lampman: The photo is before 1960. No headlights had to be displayed by day until 1960. Kim Szrama: We’re was the station at?
