Here is another shot of the Ashland depot when the tower was still intact, with a westbound C&A passenger train enroute from Bloomington to Roodhouse.

Here is an image I took on 9-26-77 of the westbound Springfield to Beardstown local led by B&O GP9 5938 and GP30 3557 at Ashland, IL. Note the "STOP" board along the train several cars behind the locomotives protecting the GM&O "Jack" line. While this image was made 69 years after the first B&W shot, 46 years have passed since I made the color one.
Dennis DeBruler: I'm glad you captured the old grain elevator as well.

The 1938 aerial that I found is different. For example, all of the white dots that are north of Bill's grain elevator, which is across the B&O tracks from the station, are not in my copy. But I have not been able to find Andy's grain elevator in either aerial photo.

The town has a big grain elevator given taht there is no rail service.
