Ashton, IL: C&NW Depot and Old Grain Elevator

Depot: (Satellite, north of the tracks at the end of Evans Ave.)
Old Elevator: (Satellite)
New Elevator: (Satellite, as we would expect with the UP, it is not rail served)

Ashton still lives! Here we see a Chicago bound train passing the C&NW's community depot at Ashton, Illinois some time about 1911. Ashton is located to the west of Rochelle. Illinois on the one time C&NW mail line to Clinton, Iowa. Those were the days!

The depot was north of the tracks at the end of Evans Ave. It is gone, but the grain elevator in the background is still standing: https://www.google.com/.../@41.864983.../data=!3m1!1e3...

Someone wanted to see photos of the C&NW depot in Ashton, Illinois. The top photo is a colorized postcard dated1911. The second is a Richard Wallin photo from 1956 while the third is another Wallin shot from 1954.  Ashton is a station stop on the Chicago-Council Bluffs main line to the west of Rochelle.
