The Depot in Midland South Dakota survives and it is being used as a museum. Tracks remain in service as part of the The Rapid City Pierre and Eastern Railroad.

The topo map accurately depicts the original location of the depot.

This 1952 aerial photo confirms what I saw on a topo map: it was originally just east of Midland Ave extended. In fact, we can still see a land scar of the depot's location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/2L2AUDSCWGhp6UFY6. [AR2466600071273]

Alan Ramquist posted two photos with the comment: "C&NW Midland, South Dakota depot. 2020."

Not only does it have an old fashioned wood grain elevator, it has a wood extension.

An advantage of regional railroads is that they don't insist that a grain elevator can load a unit train in a short amount of time. That is, they are willing to leave a cut of hoppers at the elevator.

They have painted it so many times that paint will no longer adhere. They need $80,000 to replace the siding, windows and other items. [RavellettePublications]
