A topo map shows why this town is on a spur off the mainline. The spur climbs from the river valley to the top of the river bluff.

A USGS map shows this route is owned by the Twin Cities & Western Railroad. Even though it is a shortline, I was surprised to see a bunch of hoppers spotted at the elevator because this elevator is way too small for rail service. It looks like it had seven small bins and one larger one.

Then when I saw that the entire spur was crammed with hoppers, I realized that the hoppers are just being stored here.
