The Pawnee Rock Santa Fe Railroad Depot was originally built a block or two east, but was moved to this location on Centre Street in the 1980s when the railroad no longer need it. It is now the Pawnee Rock, Kansas community center.

Tony Baco posted two photos with the comment: "This is the AT & SF Depot on Pawnee Rock, KS. Pawnee Rock on U.S. Highway 56 in the southwest part of Kansas. This depot is not in its original location. The At & SF depot once stood on the north side of the tracks and south of US 56. The depot was moved sometime in the 1980's. The depot currently serves as the Community Center."

The house track still exists and the shortline railroad uses it to serve the western (left) grain elevator.

The eastern grain elevator is across the road from the mainline and the spur we see in the topo map no longer exists. So it doesn't get rail service.

Consequently, it has shrunk. It no longer has the steel bins nor the conveyor across the road that we see in the above Apr 2012 photo.

I don't see a fall protector.
