US-66 Overview
It looks closed to me.
It is way off the beaten path because it is not between the I-40 exit and town. That is, it is not even on Business 40. I normally don't leave the blue street view markings on, but I wanted to note that not even the street view driver went past this former tourist trap.

Unlike the east coast where trees block your view of most things, in the desert you can see a long way. This is the view from I-40.
Today's Business-40 doesn't show much evidence of its Route 66 roots. I found this topo map to confirm that it uses the original route of Route 66.
