Old Elevator: (Satellite)
Storage Elevator: (Satellite)
The steel bin must be old also because I've never seen a dome roof on a bin before.
The railroad was the C&NW.
The elevator on the left was (is?) a feed mill.

| Justin Buck posted Minneota, MN. Jan 2026. David Budka: I love those small vertical feed mills once common to the northern Midwest (Iowa and Minnesota). My guess is that there was a hammer mill on the ground floor, a pneumatic cyclone on the top floor, and maybe some bins in between. There was probably a load out chute too. Maybe it was all enclosed because of the harsh winter weather. I wonder if these batch mills had mixers and pelletizers? Maybe packaging equipment? I wish I could find design drawings of these facilities. Feed mills came in all shapes and sizes! “Grinding, mixing, bulk feed.” So, at least a hammer mill and a mixer. |
And this would be the grain storage elevator.
