Silos: (Satellite)
Coal Tower: (Satellite)
Unlike many places in New York, in this town and to the east, the Barge Canal uses the route of the Enlarged Canal, which used the route of the Original Canal.
The silos are obvious. The building just to the right of the silos is the flour mill. The tower on the left is called the Coal Tower. The quaint buildings on the right are right next to the canal.

I looked for the flour mill because of this post of the Barge & Erie Canals.

Because of the angle of the bridge with the canal, it was easy to determine that it was the State Street Bridge. And since Robert was looking southeast, I needed to look northwest from the bridge. I quickly found the building with the cupola on the left side of the photo.

So I got a view from the Main Street Bridge. The silos were then obvious.

That is when I learned I missed the silos because I was looking to close to the canal and because they are hidden by their own shadow.

| PittsfordOfficeSpace The mill was built in 1882, and the silos were added in 1939. |
This is the lobby of the "Grain Tower" building. Note the curved wall on the left.
