Morton Grove, IL: Metra/Milwauke Depots

This station is on the Milwaukee District North (MD-N) commuter line.

The old depot is in the foreground, and the replacement is in the background. I guess Morton Grove wanted to join the clock tower competition in the Chicago suburbs. Did Morton Grove help pay for the new depot? Metra has been one of the many Chicagoland tax entities complaining about a lack of funds. What was wrong with the old depot? It looks big enough to have a restroom and a waiting area. You don't even need an agent office anymore because Metra now forces you to buy tickets at a kiosk even if the depot has a ticket window.
