These turtles are in one of the lock chambers.
The preserve appears to be a turtle paradise that Theresa appreciated.
And other people considered the turtles worth noting.
Hopefully, this video link continues to work.
I know because of the long legs that this bird is a water-loving bird. I researched egrets enough that I have no clue if this is an egret, heron or something else.
I think these are geese. They are remarkably unfazed by human activity. The videographer got close to them and stayed close. And they don't seem to mind traffic zooming by just a few feet away.
