This is the second time I've seen a dam built to supply steam locomotives with water. The first was near Kinmundy, IL, to supply an Illinois Central water tower that still stands.

In 1960 the railroad was labelled both Texas & New Orleans and Southern Pacific. Today, it is labelled the Dallas Area Rapid Transit.
