Oostburg, WI: Lost/C&NW Depot

(Satellite, CO Rd AA used to be just south of Center Ave.)

Chicago & North Western Historical Society posted
Just a neat photo of the C&NW depot at Oostburg, Wisconsin.  Oostburg is located just to the south of Sheboygan, Wisconsin.  It is just west of Lake Michigan.  That is a classic C&NW "speeder" seen at the right of the photo.  Is the section crewman who was using the speeder to be seen in the photo?  CLUE - Look at the top of the pole!  This is an R M Clark photo.
Dwight Smith: I like that "wig-wag" railroad signal. I actually saw one in action in Chetek WI when we vacationed there in 1970. It was the C&NW as well.
Mike Page: I'm thinking that would be either a signalman or a lineman/electrician at the top of the pole; sectionmen didn't have the responsibility of maintaining pole lines. As I worked in the signal department on the C&NW and with the section crew and extra gangs with the Milwaukee Road. My father was a lineman electrician with the C&NW.
P.S. Those speeders were a bear to start if those two small boxes in front, seen at wheel height, didn't have six (3 per box) semi-fresh cylindrical dry cell batteries. I speak from experience, as I also pushed on for about 3, 39' rails lengths while the Signalman tried popping the clutch and feathering the throttle on a cold morning in Cyman Junction, Wisconsin one cold morning.
Bruce Rutherford: While board and batten depots were not stylish, this depot has class.❤️👍
