It looks like the microwave tower still has its waveguide, but I don't see any microwave antennas. Just radio and/or cell antennas.

This route didn't exist in 1902.
It did exist in the 1950s. I had to access 8 quadrangles in order to trace the route from Guernsey, WY, to Laurel, MT. I marked Thermopolis with the red target symbol on this map display. The route followed the North Platte River to Casper where it then followed Casper Creek. Then the railroad went over a divide to go North down the Bighorn River.
It finally occurred to me to use a BNSF map.
