Dennis DeBrulerTom Edwards: Busy place! CGW Boom Island roundhouse and yard across the river, Omaha (C&NW) yard to the left where the train is either pulling out or shoving in, CB&Q coach yard on the left by the river, The rest of the tracks are pretty much all GN and their Minneapolis depot is to the right out of the photo.

I'm still trying to figure out how C&NW got through St. Paul and Minneapolis. The Omaha Yard would be another piece of that puzzle.

Tom Edwards: From what I've read, the Omaha connected their St. Paul and Minneapolis yards by running over the GN tracks between those two cities.

That was my conclusion. Thanks for the confirmation. I became curious when I found this UP intermodal yard next to a BNSF/GN yard.
