Thunder Bay, ON
Viterra B is on the left and Canada Malting Co. Limited is on the right.
The cranes indicate that the FEDEREAL FREEDOM is a salty. In fact, some comments by Larry indicate that this is the ship's first load and that it will be going to Montreal.

Dennis DeBruler shared The salty BRANT (2008 Cyprus) was loaded at Viterra A Elevator on Dec 3, 2021. The cranes have been unfolded and swung to the side to provide access to the hatches. It looks like ice is beginning to form on the lake. They have only a few weeks before the Soo Locks will be closed for the winter season. |
Dennis DeBruler shared I was going to pass on another ship arriving at Viterra A in Thunder Bay, ON, until I saw a comment by David Schauer about the crewmember dropping down to help secure the mooring. This is FRONTENAC (1968 Canada) arriving on Dec 7, 2021. Dennis DeBruler The post containing this photo: David's post: Viterra A: |

4 of 15 photos posted by Michael Hull with the comment: "IRYDA (1999 Cyprus) was assisted from Superior Elevator in the Port of Thunder Bay by Glenada (1943) and Point Valour (1958) from Thunder Bay Tug Services. Iryda departed for Italy. GARDNO (2018 Bahamas) was docked at Viterra B Elevator. After loading, Gardno departed for the Port of Veracruz, Mexico. After assisting with Iryda, Glenada headed back to base down the Mission River and then under the Jackknife Bascule Bridge on the Kaministiquia River."
[The two photos of Iryda show why lakers have bow thrusters.]
