Erie Lackawanna Ferry Terminal, Hoboken NJ, 2021.
This is one of only two railroad/ferry terminals of its kind left on the East Coast and the only one still offering passenger service, run by NJ Transit... the other terminal, the Central Railroad of NJ further south up the river, in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, ceased passenger and ferry service in 1967. It was saved from the wrecking ball and I believe is registered in the National Record of Historic Places... this Hoboken Terminal was originally the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western RR terminal and the "Erie" wording was added after the Erie RR merged with the DL&W RR in 1958. The Erie's Pavonia Station operations in Jersey City were moved here just before the the two railroads merged. The ferry services operated out of there today are NY Waterway ferries...
