Acton, IN: Lost/Big Four Depot

(Satellite, Exchange Street must have been narrower ca. 1910.)

Indiana Historical Society posted
On this day in 1852, Acton, Indiana, was platted in Marion County. Initially called Farmersville, it quickly changed names to Acton as there was already a town by that name. It was a stop on the Indianapolis and Cincinnati Railroad, which was later absorbed by other companies and became part of what was known as the Big Four Railroad. Pictured here is the Railroad Station in Acton ca. 1910.

East of the crossing of Exchange Street and the tracks is a small rectangle between a large rectangle and the crossing. But if it was that small rectangle, we would see Exchange Street in the left side of the above photo. Looking again, I think we do see Exchange Street next to the depot.
