Enjoy a front-row seat to the mid-life overhaul of our Komatsu 4100XPC AC P&H Electric Rope Shovel at our Bulga Coal operation!

After 10 years of service and with 60,000 hours under its belt, this 1,536-tonne machine is getting a new lease on life.

Using a rail system, the team lifted and moved the upper structure away from the car body. This method makes it easier to disassemble and assemble the undercarriage and reduces delays on the upper structure work.

30,000 hours of hard work later, this machine is set for another decade of heavy lifting! 💪

This is just a fraction of the mine. It looks like the coal seam is really thick.

When I saw all of these land scars, I wondered if they do reclamation. But when I looked closer, I realized those are the active operations of several mining companies.
