Andy Zukowski posted Railroad Depot in Keyesport, Illinois. 1912 Bill Edrington: This is the CB&Q line from Concord to Paducah, looking south toward Shattuc and Centralia many years before the Okaw (Kaskaskia) River was dammed to create Carlyle Lake. The main line was relocated in the 1960s due to formation of the new lake, but a stub-end portion of the old line into the center of Keyesport was retained for some years to serve the local elevator. The old depot stood on that segment of track until it was finally torn down. I remember it. Richard Fiedler shared Richard Fiedler: Burlington but was the former Jacksonville Southeastern. |
Dennis DeBruler commented on Andy's post This 1938 aerial shows that the gas station, https://maps.app.goo.gl/GjDA7RiLZi1HoBU4A, has repurposed the depot's land. And that the grain elevator has expanded onto former railroad property. |
The grain elevator has expanded a few times since its wood elevator in the 1938 aerial.
