A lot of car repairs were done in the RIP (repair-in-place) yard, while the heavy repairs or erecting were carried out indoors. Here is the Lehigh Valley car shops and RIP yard at Sayre PA. (Sayre Historical Society)

Tim Starr posted two images with the comment: "The primary Lehigh Valley RR back shops were in Sayre, PA. Here is the layout as proposed in 1903 before they were built. The photo is of the site in the 1970s after the roundhouse had been sadly removed."
