The current "depot" is really a UP office building, and it is part of the relatively new bypass around the town. It appears that UP built the new railyard to have longer tracks.

UP had a north/south and an east/west route through this town.
When I noticed that the bypass still had not been built in 1983, I fired up Google Earth. Sure enough, it was built in the 21st Century.
