Tim Ingerson posted Seen this in Gvt's Batavia yard, question to anyone. Was this building a former round house if so if there's any pictures I'd love to see. Scot Lawrence: Yes, it was a roundhouse, with a turntable, and during the steam era it was directly alongside the NYC 4-track mainline right through the middle of Batavia. NYC re-routed the mainline out of the center of town in the 1950's, which is the line currently used by CSX. DLWR moved in to the roundhouse in 2008, and they held a public open house April 17, 2009! 🙂 my photos from 4/17/2009: |
