Joshua Mortus commented on Rick's post This is the current location of the then roundhouse. The area is still used for rail storage, tho power of a different kind I might add. [He put North at the bottom. (Satellite)] |

I'm surprised this topo map didn't mark its location. Most topo maps do rather accurately depict roundhouses. The 1944 topo map also did not show the roundhouse.

An excerpt that includes the station at the bottom.
After significant research, I don't think the AI got the correct town. I include this photo to demonstrate how untrustworthy AI output can be. Note that the two old cars show that this photo is in the same timeframe as the above photos. I could not read the word at the end of the B&M sign on the front of the station.

Physical education posted This captivating photograph from circa 1910 showcases the Boston and Maine Railroad Depot in Salem, Massachusetts. [The rest of the description sounds like AI generated platitudes.]
Donald Dillaby: I remember the gothic castle depot in Salem, but not this one. |
The old station was south of the tunnel. The new one is north of the tunnel. The station was moved in the late 1980s. [

The new station has parking. No parking was one of the problems of the old station.
