Michael Emerson Avitt posted My best photo of the CB&Q depot at Albany, Missouri in early January 2010. High resolution. Michael Emerson Avitt posted CB&Q depot at Albany, Missouri - January 2010. |
The town has more land used for fertilizer supply than it does for grain storage. The depot is near the center of the top of this excerpt.
The farm supply has reused the land of a CB&Q railyard. This map does mark the depot's location that was west of Birch Street and on the north side of the yeard.

After seeing that Albany is on one end of the branch that served
Mt. Ayr, I zoomed out on the topo map. The branch is probably why such a small town had a railyard.

Art LH posted I was east of Albany Missouri yesterday and I stopped to get this picture of the old CB&Q road bed that this bridge went over that is now used as a private drive. Cliff Kierstead shared |
Duncan Noack provided two photos in the comments on Art's post with the description: "Got a photo of the trestle just north of there near grant city, and one of the trestle over near new hampton."
