Byron, MI: 1885 Preserved/Ann Arbor Depot and Wood Grain Elevator

Depot: (Satellite, the grain elevator was on the other side of the tracks.)

Street View, Nov 2021

Durand Union Station-Michigan Railroad History Museum posted two photos with the comment:
This Friday's featured depot is the Ann Arbor depot in Byron 🚂
Byron was settled back in 1824. In 1885, the Toledo, Ann Arbor, & Northern Railroad  reached Byron and this depot was built shortly after. The Toledo, Ann Arbor & Northern Railroad would eventually go on to become the Ann Arbor Railroad.
The Ann Arbor Railroad ceased passenger service in 1950. The depot fell into a state of disrepair. However, the depot would eventually be purchased and restored, and is cared for by the owners on private property.
Note: The depot is a pale yellow in color. The color quality of our photo shifted after scanning and uploading.

[Note that this photo also catches the water tower. The elevator was rather large for its day. And the boxcars remind one that covered hoppers were not developed until the 1960s.]
