The yellow building on the left is the Memphis & Charleston Railroad headquarters and passenger station, built in 1860. The red building on the right is the M&C freight building, built in 1856, which was destroyed by fire in 2004."

Randall James: These 60 footers built by Pullman Standard's Bessemer Alabama assembly plant, usually carried auto assembly parts, I've got 2 in HO scale made by atlas models.

Jamie's comment implies this was an L&N roundhouse. But the railroad that went next to the depot was Southern. And the only other railroad in town was the Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis. It is amazing how much the roads have changed since 1950.
