Depot: (
Satellite)
This street view captures the depot and the feed mill in the left background. There is a sign out by the street next to the parking lot that reads "DECATUR COUNTY ENGINEER'S OFFICE." Note that a feed truck is being loaded at the mill.
A closeup of the feed mill that shows the Purina checkerboard logo and a parked feed truck.
The checkerboard on the other side of the mill is significantly more faded.

Michael Emerson Avitt posted My primary interests are CB&Q branch lines in southern Iowa and northern Missouri, and depots. This is the CB&Q depot in Leon, Iowa - my photo from 2003. In 2004 a restoration project was begun. The depot has been occupied by the Decatur County Engineer's Office since before 2003. This depot was built in 1910 and served the Chariton to St. Joseph branch of the CB&Q and the former Des Moines, Osceola, & Southern (later CB&Q) which terminated in Cainsville, Missouri. |
It appears that Church Street was moved from the east side of the depot to the former track side.
