When I looked for a street view that had better lighting, I discovered that the restoration was done during the past year.
I read "Ninth St" on Jim's photo, so I searched for the station starting from the north side of town. I found two other buildings that obviously used to be gas stations.
This one has been extensively remodeled. Specifically, they filled in the big, overhead doors. I think it was a filling station because it is on a diagonal with respect to the street corner and because we can still see the foundation for the pump island.
