Loadout: (Satellite, they had to build a long haul road to get to the loadout of an old mine.)
James R Griffin Sr. posted two images with the comment: "Old Ben Coal Company Draglines in southern Indiana 1984."
Tom Moosbrugger: Jim Morris north of the interstate and just off weyerbacher rd. Seven Hills mine. Went by last month and it was dark.
[I could not find a dragline in the pit off Weyerbacher Road nor the other two active pits at Seven Hills.]
Michael Smith: Kate sits idle once again in a pit of Peabody Somerville mine ops it's rumored to walk across I-64 to the new seven hills mine. I believe gentleman Ben is at the mine up near Linton.

The track leaving the loadout to the west was an industrial spur built to the Big Four Railroad, while the track leaving to the southeast and then to the south was an industrial spur built to the Southern Railroad. Both spurs and the Big Four mainline are now owned by the Indiana Southern RR (ISRR).

The Big Four mainline was built by the Evansville, Indianapolis and Terre Haute (EITH). It was then absorbed by the Chicago and Eastern Illinois before it was absorbed by the Big Four. Norfolk Southern shares the southern industrial spur with ISRR. Currently, they must be using the southern spur instead of the west ern spur because there is too much tree growth along the western spur.
The pit to the east of the loadout was active as recently as May 2022. On the far right of this excerpt is Peabody's maintenance facility.
