Riverton, IL: Lost/Wabash Depot and 189401932 Coal Mine

Depot: (Satellite, Madison Street was extended after the depot was removed.)

I think the building with the Schlitz sign was the grain elevator.

Wabash depot Riverton IL about 1905. Note the extra tall switch stand.

The white line along the tracks would have been the platform. So the depot is the rectangle along that line. The mine closed in 1932, and it looks like they already removed the tipple in 1939.
Digitally Zoomed

I'm surprised the depot is not marked; they normally are. Evidently the cartographer could not identify the depot among the coal mine buildings. The upper railroad is the Wabash, and the lower railroad was the Illinois Terminal.

Fortunately, the curves in the Wabash railroad made it easy to identify the map as Index #36.
