Current: (Satellite?, I could not find it.)
Dave Milam posted four photos with the comment: "Here is something you don’t see very often; in 2007 I sold a large parcel of property to Walgreen’s in Pekin, IL On my property was a train depot, it sat at the corner of 14th street and Broadway. In stead of letting it be torn down, we donated the depot to the Pekin Park District. The depot now is sitting at about the 1600 block of Broadway in Pekin. These are pictures I took as the house mover BALAGNA, took the depot up the street to its current location."
Mark Stoeckel: What railroad owned the station?
Harold J. Krewer: Mark Stoeckel, that was the Chicago & Alton, later GM&O, eventually ICG depot.
Richard Fiedler: Harold J. Krewer actually originally constructed by the St Louis Peoria and Northern RR
Austin Seaton: was it moved with the damage?
Richard Fiedler: Austin Seaton they partially disassembled it to get it through town then reassembled it on its new foundation.

Dennis DeBruler commented on Dave's post Dennis DeBruler: So it is now a dental office? https://maps.app.goo.gl/pJnWSxG2NzGF4Sn3A Dave Milam: Dennis DeBruler no, I mentioned (about) 1600 block on Broadway. Because it’s in the park, they did not go get a 911 address, or an exact location because the park district has many locations, and encompasses twenty five acres give or take! Hope this helps? |
Dennis DeBruler commented on Dave's comment I found a caboose, but not the depot, https://maps.app.goo.gl/2B19h4EZEDKdtWhC6. |
Once again, a topo map marks the location of a depot in a "red area." That makes it easier to find on the aerial photo.
