Great image. View is looking north. Interestingly it appears this building was downsized and remodeled rather than replaced during the 1940's depot rationalization project. Chris Goepel. Here's a Barry Lennon Collection photo taken by his grandfather in 1966 after the agency was closed.

Here's a shot of the southbound Mendota Turn (Train 83) at Eldena taken by my dad in the late 70's/early 80's.
Dennis DeBruler: Jim French I wondered if the elevator became a feed mill. This photo indicates that it did.

It appears that the foundation still exists, https://maps.app.goo.gl/rUZyB9ov8dcAMK8AA.
And the grain elevator still has the original wooden part.
Jim French: Dennis DeBruler I'm thinking that has something to do with the grain elevator. I believe the depot was a bit north of that and set slightly more to the east. The depot was gone by the early 70's and that area has since been regraded.
Dennis DeBruler: Jim French I agree. I changed my comment.

I tend to agree with Jim on the depot's location. This image from Aug. 3, 1939 shows what appears to be the depot slightly northwest of the grain elevator.

Here’s the current view looking south on Feb 21, 2024.
Dennis DeBruler: Jim French So the wood elevator is still standing.
Jim French: Dennis DeBruler yes, behind the corregated bins.

It appears that a local farmer has more grain storage than the town elevator has.
