Carol Datt Mattar: Thank you for posting this. Years later my parents would take us there to watch the passenger train come in just after watching the IC passenger train a few blocks away. We also left from here to take the overnight Milwaukee Road train to Kansas City to visit relatives.
John Cook: Freeport, in the early 1900s was second only to Chicago in Illinois when it came to trains arriving and leaving.

.. that must have been a new depot? cuz that building is just noth of the old Baggage Depot which in turn was north of the Passenger depot
