Risk, IL: Lost/Depot and Junction: Wabash vs. IC

(Satellite, it was north of the IC tracks and west of N 2700 East Road.)

A very small railroad depot in an area called Risk. It was a station and post office at the junction of the Kankakee and Bloomington branch of the Illinois Central and the Wabash railroads in Fayette Township , one mile north of Strawn. 1915
Kevin C. Smith: As I recall, the Wabash line was relocated during WW2 so that it missed the original crossing. From what I recall (tho' many years ago) there was nothing left of Risk by the 1980's.

Thanks for showing that the Wabash route was changed. I was surprised to see the curve in the Wabash route in this 1940 aerial photo. It looks like the depot was north if the IC tracks and west of N 2700 East Road. So was that an IC depot?  It also looks like there was an interlocking tower in the southwest quadrant of the crossing and an IC water tower just east of IL-47.
Richard Fiedler: Dennis DeBruler that was an IC depot. According to my 1906 Wabash structures book there was a tower and mechanical interlocking at the crossing built by the IC May 1906 but Wabash paying 7-18 of the cost. There was no Wabash depot at Risk but there was a cinder platform and a mail crane on the Wabash. Wabash did have a depot 1.3 miles south at Strawn.
