Since we're talking about historic train stations. I'm happy to say that the 1888 Frank Furness Station located in Aberdeen, MD along the Philly Subdivision is having an Open House on October 5.Photos are BEFORE restoration and NOW...
Wade Rice Jr: It looks like on the restored station that a chimney was transferred over to the other side. Must have been that way on the original.
Dave Henderson: Wade Rice Jr They made some retro changes to be in line with the original look, from what I understand.

Robert Tarring: The 1885 station was transferred to the HCHS and then to 'Friends of' but had to be moved back from the CSX right of way to land that they donated.

Aberdeen Main Street Maryland posted 2025 HARFORD COUNTY HISTORIC PRESERVATION AWARD PRESENTED TO THE ABERDEEN B&O TRAIN STATION The restored Aberdeen B&O Train Station has been selected by the Harford County Historic Preservation Commission as the recipient of the 2025 Preservation Project. The award recognizes the dedication to preserving Harford County’s history. May is National Historic Preservation Month, and County Executive Bob Cassilly will present the award on May 17th as part of the county’s celebration. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at The Historical Society of Harford County Headquarters in Bel Air. The non-profit “Friends of the Aberdeen B&O Train Station,” along with many government, civic, and private partners, is honored to be recognized and thankful to all who support historic preservation in the City of Aberdeen. Tour the Train Station on Saturday, May 24th from 10am -1pm. Recently obtained B&O Railroad artifacts will be on display. The Historical Havre de Grace Foundation will display historic artifacts as part of the National Historic Preservation Month. Alexander Mitchell shared |
