(Satellite)

This is one of the flood incidents of 2024.

The flooding that was around Omaha is working its way down the Missouri River.

Captain Meriwether Lewis Dredge posted three photos with the comment:

Normally, the dredge sits on dry land. The hull has leaks because I came across a Facebook post that said the boat was taking in water. But it sounded like pumps were able to keep up with it.

In the middle of the boat is a triple-expansion steam engine. But it powers the dredge pump rather than a propeller.

The ship is propelled by paddlewheels on the sides. That has to be rather obsolete for a boat built in 1932. But it frees up the center for the pump and gives the dredge a lot of maneuverability.
